"Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much." Helen Keller

This coming Saturday, October 24th, is National Make a Difference Day. It was created in 1992 by USA WEEKEND magazine, and joined by Points of Light, to sponsor the largest national day of community service. According to Volunteeringinamerica.gov, Virginia ranks 18th among the 50 states with 29.1% of our population volunteering. That's 1.95 million volunteers doing 250.4 million hours of service. The site also states that 59.7% of residents engage in "informal volunteering" (for example, doing favors for neighbors). So are you a formal or informal sort of volunteer? Why not join the fun this Saturday and make a difference in someone's life!
