Devil’s Bathtub is located in the Jefferson National Forest, near Fort Blackmore, Va. Hikers who aren’t afraid to get their feet wet or keep their eyes peeled for yellow-painted tree trunks will be rewarded with the grand beauty of this natural wonder tucked away in the Appalachian Mountains. Why is it called The Devil's Bathtub? Local folk lore has it that in the 1800's, the devil roamed this part of the Appalachian Mountains and the water here was the only thing that could cool him off.
