The 1998 film Patch Adams was based on the life, and views of medicine, on Hunter Doherty "Patch" Adams while he attended the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) in Richmond. His onscreen persona was portrayed by Robin Williams, and while based on a Virginia hospital, it was filmed primarily in North Carolina and California. MCV is now known as the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System (a mouthful), though some who attended before the name change refuse to acknowledge the new moniker and still say only MCV. Wonder what the irreverent Patch Adams would say to that?
We are quite proud to be a Virginia company, and what better way to celebrate this than by celebrating Virginia!
