When you think of museums in Virginia, the world renowned Virginia Museum of Fine Arts comes to mind, as does, perhaps, the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk.
Well, this week, we're going to look at some of the more, shall we say, obscure museums in Virginia.
Let's start out with the "American Celebration on Parade" museum which is part Shenandoah Caverns in New Market. This museum features floats, props and displays focused on historical events which have been used around the country over many years.
Children love the colorful displays, and adults may remember seeing one of the floats on a televised parade as a child. If you've never been to a parade with large floats, this museum will give you a good sense of what it must be like to see one pass by. You'll just need to "strike up the band" in your head!
Have you ever been to this Parade museum?
