Happy National Tick Tock Day.
Tick Tock Day is a reminder that there are only 2 days remaining in the year. Do you have any unfinished business that needs to be done in this calendar year? Is there something big you want to accomplish yet this year? Now is the time to finish up as the clock is ticking!
In colonial times in Virginia, a resident of Fredericksburg was the most prolific clockmaker in the colonies. Thomas Walker would use a combination of locally produced and imported brass parts to create his "tall clock cases" (what we usually call Grandfather clocks) and bracket clocks (that would sit on a shelf or table). Prized nationally by collectors and museums, Walker clocks are scarce, with only about a dozen known examples. They are held tightly by Colonial Williamsburg, Stratford Hall, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Historic Deerfield and a few private collections.
Whether it's donations or lapsed New Year's resolutions you made in January, "time's a tickin'!"
